Application tiled August 19,1901. Serial No. 72,607. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, SIMON W.WARDWELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cops or Thread- Packages, of which the followingr is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

My design is essentially characterized by its substantially spherical or spheroidal form and an equatorial Zone or band the surface of which presents an ornamental appearance.

In the drawings, Figure l is a side View of a cop or package embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a perspective View thereof.

The ends or polar zones a, of the cop or thread-package present a corded configuration disposed in a volute, which starts from a navel-like origin at each pole l) of the package, imparting a surface appearance as of a cord laid in a close spiral and covering the SIMON 1V. WVARDVVELL.
