DESIG N.

No. 34,97l.
SPOKE SOCKET.
(Application filed Feb. 28, 1901.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES L. HECTOR, OF HAYMARKET, VIRGINIA.
DESIGN FOR A SPOKE-SOCKET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No; 34,971, dated August 20, 1901.
Application filed February 23, 1901. Serial No. 48,618. Term of patent 7 years.
erence marked thereon, which form a part of.
this specification.
This invention relates to a new and useful design for a spoke-socket; and the general design consists of a cylindrical body portion having oppositely-disposed arms, which taper from the cylindrical portion to and merge into the rounded ends, the marginal space between said arms adjacent to the body portion being semicircularly outlined.
The invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective View of my design for a spoke-socket for attachment to the felly of a wheel. Fig. 2 is a side elevation, and
Fig. 3 is an elevation at right angles to Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is an end elevation.
Reference being had to the details of the design by letters, Adesignates the cylindrical shell or body portion of the spoke-socket, one end of which has a concentric contracted cylindrical projection B. Said body portion has two elongated arms D, which are curved, the edges of which arms are straight their entire length, are V-shaped in elevation, and terminate in rounded ends, while the space intermediate said arms is outlined by the straight edges of said arms, which are upwardly and inwardly inclined, as shown in Fig. 2, and merge together by a curved portion E of the shell.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim to be new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'
The design for a spoke-socket, substan tially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
