Be it known that I, HARRY M. WELLS, of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Socket- Piece for Automobile-Frames, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to socket-pieces to be embodied in the under frames of automobile vehicles; and it consists in the design formed by the novel conformation of such socket-pieces, as hereinafter explained.

My design is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figures 1 and 2 are perspective views showing opposite ends of the socket-piece, and Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section therethrough on line 3 3 of Fig. 1.

The distinguishing feature of my design is a flaring or cup-shaped base 1 and three branches 2 2, projecting therefrom and merging close to the base 1, the ends of all of said branches presenting an open or tubular ap- HARRY M. WELLS.
