DESIGN FOR A PUIMIP.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HENRY H. BABCOCK, of Watertown, in the State of New York, have originated a new Design for Pumps, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.

This design has reference to that part of a wooden pump which is above the well-curb, and contemplates a cylinder, at, having an octagonal pedestal, b, of about one-fifth the length of the pump.

A similar octagonal facing, 0, forms the exterior of a portion of, perhaps, one-sixth the length of the pump, and a little above its centre.

Two mouldings, a a, are placed, one above and the other below the facing a, and at equal distances then from.

The top of the pump is ornamented with a conic: cap, d.

This I consider a neat and tasteful shape for pump, the octagonal facings and the mouldings in parting an elegant finish.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to Seoul by Letters Patent, is-- The design for pumps herein set forth.
