To all whom Iit 'nw/y concern Be it known that I, JOHN W. KIssAM, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and originalDesign fora Scale-Bottom and I dc hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specication, in which drawing- Figure 1 represents a transverse section of this invention.
Figure 2 is a perspective view thereof.

This invention relates to a design for a scale-bottom, whereby such bottom receives a distinguishing appearance of strength and solidity.
A represents one of my scale-bottoms, which is made concave, as usual. The edge of this bottom is turned down so as to form a broad rim a, the edge of which is filled up by a stout wire, b.
By this rim a new and particular appearance of strength and solidity is given to my scale-bottoms, whereby I am enabled to distinguish the same from scale-bottoms made in the usual form or shape.
