DESIGN FOR A CHAIN.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,221, dated July 18, 1899.

Application filed March 17, 1899. Serial No. 709,553- Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, WILLIAM 0. EDGE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Chains; and I do herei by declare the following to be a full, clear,

newly-designed chain, and Fig. 2 is an edge View of the same.

As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of the design consists in two series of links, the links of one series crossing those of the other at an angle and each :0 link being shaped in resemblance to two links lying parallel one to the other.

In the drawings, a a a indicate one series of links, and b b b the other series of links crossing those of the first series at an angle, 2 5 as shown in side view. Each link is shaped in edge view in resemblance to two links 0 c, placed side by side.

What I claim as new is The design for a chain herein shown and 0 described.
