Description

DESIC N.
" Patented June 27, I899. l. E. PALMER.
FABRIC.
(Application filed Lily 22. 1899.)
WITNESSES INVENTOR ATTORNEYS.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ISAAC E. PALMER, OF MIDDLETOVVN, CONNEGTIOUT.
DESIGN FOR FABRIC.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,112, dated June 27, 1899. Application filed May 22,1899. Serial No. 717,355. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ISAAC E. PALMER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Fabrics, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The leading feature of my design consists in a fabric in which the threads, extending in one direction along the fabric, are arranged in groups, each group composed of three threads, two of said threads appearing to extend along side by side in substantially parallel lines, while the third takes a sinuous course, passing, when the fabric is viewed from one side, back and forth from a position on one side of two parallel threads to a position on the opposite side of two parallel threads. These groups of three are represented as crossed by a series of single threads engaged with the groups of three at points where the sinuous thread ofthe group projects at one side or the other of the two straight threads. When viewed from the opposite side, the sinuous thread appears to be exposed throughout its sinuous course and above the two straight threads instead of below, as when viewed from the opposite side.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a portion of lhe'fahric when viewed from one side, and Fig. 2 represents the same when viewed from the opposite side.
The groups of three threads are denoted by A, the sinuous thread of each groupis denoted by a, and the two straight threads by a a. The threads which run in the opposite direction are denoted by B.
What I claim is The design for a fabric, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as myinvention I have signed my name, in presence of two witnesses, this 19th day of May,
ISAAC E. PALMER.
Witnesses:
E. B. WETMORE, P. S. CARRIER.
