DESIGN FOR A BUSTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,054, dated June 20, 1899.
Application filed May 23,1899. Serial No. 717,961. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARY E. WETHERELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boston, in the county of Sulfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and Improved Design for a Bustle, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure 1 is a plan View of a bustle embodying the features of my design. Fig. 2 is a section taken on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a section taken on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1.
The leading features of the design consist in the side strips A and A, which converge at the top of the bustle and diverge at the bottom and are longitudinally curved, the bottom strip B, which has an upward tendency from the center in opposite directions and is longitudinally curved from the center, and an arched skeleton frame C, connecting with the bottom and side strips.
The detail features of the design relate to the skeleton frame, which presents a central longitudinal strip a, a series of oppositely directed strips 1) and c, that diagonally cross the center strip and cross each other, and bands d and e, that extend from one side strip a to the other, the bands being located at opposite sides of the center and beneath the skeleton frame, together with loops f, that appear at the upper terminals of the side strips A and A.
I claim The design for the bustle herein shown and described.
