\VILLIAM BOlVMAN, OF MEDICINE IIAT, CANADA.
DESIGN FOR AN INK-WELL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,361, dated September 20, 1898. Application filed August 19,1898. Serial No. 689,043. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM BOWMAN, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Medicine llat, in Assiniboia Territory and Dominion of Canada, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for In k-lVells; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention has relation to a new and original design for ink-wells; and it consists of an ink-well of the configuration shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation, and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view.
The leading features of the design consist of a body portion A, having a broad annular groove a, the rounded bulge b, the angular bulge c, the annular shoulder d, the tapering tops 6, the cap f, the annular base-collar the annular base-bulge h, of greater diameter than the bulges and collars aforesaid, the conical supporting-stud i, the dip-pot 7', extending laterally beyond the bulge h and projecting above and below the upper and lower surfaces of said bulge and provided with a cap a.
An inkstand thus constructed is ornamental in appearance and forms a very desirable addition to a desk, and owing to the peculiar arrangement of parts will automatically feed the ink to the dip-potj.
What I claim is- The design for an ink-well as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WILLIAM BOWMAN. Witnesses:
CHAS. E. NEFF, CHAS. E. SMYTH.
