DESIGN FOR AN EAVES-TROUGH HANGER.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 28,359, dated March 8, 1898.
Application filed January 24, 1898. Serial No. 667,831. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES D. \VARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tonlon, in the county of Stark and State of Illinois, have invented a new and original Design for an Eaves-Trough Hanger, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for an eaves-trough hanger; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in an approximately semicircular band provided at its lower side with a longitudinal rounded bead tapering in thickness toward its ends, with a U-shaped lip extension at one extrenv ity and an inwardly-disposed L-shaped arm at the extremity opposite said lip extension, the horizontal member of said L-shaped arm being provided at its under side with a transverse pointed lip or lug and a thickened inclined web lying in the angle between the said vertical and horizontal members of said L- shaped arm.
A minor feature of the design resides in the semicircular band and the inclined strap connected therewith having continuous bevels at their opposite side edges and the transverse rib or leg and the thickened web being of a V shape in cross-section.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of an eaves-trough hanger embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a side View thereof. Fig. 3 is a detail cross-sectional View on the line 3 8 of Fig. 2. Fig. l is a similar view on the line 4 4 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, the numeral 1 designates an approximately semicircular band having at one extremity a U-shaped lip extension 2 and at its opposite extremity an inwardly-disposed L-shaped arm 3, from the upper end of whose vertical member 4 is extended the straight inclined strap 5. The short horizontal member G of the L-shaped arm 3 is provided at its under side,at an intermediate point between its ends, with the transverse lip or lug 7 of a V shape in cross-section, and a thickened inclined web 8 is arranged in the angle between the membersi and U of the L-shaped arm 3, said thickened web 8 also being of a V shape in crosssection.
The semicircular band 1 and the straight inclined strap 5, connected therewith, are pro vided with continuous bevels U at the side edges thereof, and the said band is further provided at its lower side with a longitudinal rounded bead 10, which tapers in thickness toward its ends.
\Vhat I claim is- The design foran eaves-trough hangerherein shown and described.
