T() ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, STUART GWYNN, of the city, county, and State of New York, have originated and produced a new Design for a Trade-Mark, to be used to designate a new manufacture" or composition of matter; and the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the aceompanying drawings, making part of this specification.

This design consists of five members, an ellipse, a, rhombus, a globe, a fulcrum, and a lever, of which A A A A is the encircling ellipse, B B B B the rhombus, of such shape that its angles are equal to those produced by placing two equilateral triangles base to base. C is the globe, D the fulcrum, in the form of an equilaterzil triangle, and E is the lever, of unequal thickness, its greatest strength being over the fulcrum, where it is required. Above the rhombus and inside the ellipsejs the legend or motto, Science transforms," and below, the name adopted for the new manufacture or composition of matter, which name is Vegetable Membrane."

What I claim as my invention or production, is-
