UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS CORSCADEN, OF NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE AMERICAN PULLEY COMPANY, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A FRAME FOR PULLEYS,
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,758, dated October 19, 1897. Application filed May 8, 1897. Serial No. 635,748 Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, THOMAS CORSCADEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for 2. Frame for Pulleys, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of a frame for pulleys, showing my design; and Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same, together with the position of a second frame of like design indicated in broken lines as placed by the side of said first-mentioned frame.
The leading or material feature of my design consists of a semicylindrical hub-shell and longitudinally corrugated spoke arms radiating from one end of said shell, the same constituting a frame for use in the manufacture of pulleys.
A designates the semicylindrical hub-shell, which is plane and smooth, and extending from one end thereof there are three radial spoke-arms B, which, with said shell, form 25 a spider or skeleton frame for a pulley. The spoke-arms B extend from the edge of the metal at the end of the hub-shell, showing in edge View a gentle curve 3 at their junction with said hub-shell. Each spoke-arm is provided with a central bead or corrugation 2, that extends longitudinally therewith from near the outer end of the spokes to the hubshell. In practice four such spiders or frames will be used in one pulley, and in order to show their relations to each other, I have indicated in Fig. 2 a second frame, in broken lines, properly placed by the side of the one that is shown in full lines.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a frame for pulleys, as herein shown and described.
THOMAS CORSCADEN.
