DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS, 80C.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,452, dated August 3, 1897.
Application filed June 28, 1897. Serial No. 642,757. Term of patent 35- years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHRIS SILBER, of Merlden, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for the Handles of Spoons, Forks, &o.; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a f nll, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawing constitutes part of this specification and represents a face View.
This invention relates to a design for the ornamentation of the handles of spoons,forks, and like articles of table-service; and the design consists in the configuration and ornainentation as shown in the accompanying illustration and hereinafter described.
As herein shown ,the handle expands grad nally from its inner end outward and upward, its top crowned by reversely-cnrved scroll ornaments A on opposite sides of a centrallyarranged shell-like tip B. Depending from the scrolls A on opposite sides and forming a border for the upper portion of the handle are foliated scrolls C, gradually diminishing in width and represented as lying upon a plain panel I). A similar foliated-scroll ornamentation E- riscs from a point slightlyabove the center of the handle, forming a border for that portion thereof, and at the inner end of the handle is a small scroll ornamentation F, from which a gradually-(iiminishing tracery G extends upward for a short distance upon the narrower portion of the handle, all as shown in the accompanying illustration.
I claim- The design for the handle for spoons, forks &c., as herein shown and described.
