ROBERT F. DOIIERTY, OF YONKERS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE ALEX-V ANDER SMITH du SONS CARPET COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,196, dated June B, 1897.
Application filed April 30, 1897. Serial No. 634,665. Term of' patent Si years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT F. DOHEETY, of Yonkers, county of Westchester, State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Carpets,fu11y described and represented in the following,r specilication andthe accompanying drawings, forming a part of the same.
The design is intended to be worked into or upon carpets or similar fabrics in such colors as may be desired; and 1 do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet weaving and manufacture a clear understanding of the saine and is sucient to enable such person to use my invention.
ln the drawing, A is the body of tbe carpet, and B the border. The design of the body A is characterized by the lace-like or damask ornamentation a on the ground b, with figures c at intervals.
The design of the border B is characterized by the large running double scroll e and the flower-and-leaf festoon f on the opposite side of the border from the scroll e.
Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In the design for carpets, the body A substantially as shown and described.
2. In the design for carpets, the border B, Substantially as shown and described.
3. The design for carpets comprising the body A and the border B, substantially as Shown and described.
