JOHN BUMP, OF MILVAUKEE, \YISCONSIN, ASSIGNOR TO THE ECLIPSE STOVE COMPANY, OF MANSFIELD, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE-BASE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,006, dated September 8, 1896.
Application filed July 10, 1896. Serial No. 598,755. Term of patent 14 years.
"0 all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN C. BUMP. a citizen of the United States, residing at Milwaukee, in the county of Milwaukee and State of Vie consin, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Stove-Bases, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing the parts thereof.
Figure 1 is a plan view of my design for a stove-base. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a vertical transverse section. Fig. l isa rear elevation. Fig. 5 is aside elevation of a form of the stove-base, showing an ornamental side panel extending around the stove-base.
My design consists of a cast stove-base having a central depression or ash-pit A, open at the front and closed at the rear and sides. The ash-pit is inclosed on three sides by a flue B of the design and form shown in the accompanying drawings. This flue opens at the front on either side of the ash-pit at C and at the rear in an elongated opening D. The stove-base is provided with openings E E at the rear. The front of the ash-pitis adapted to be closed by a door. The sides of the stove-base G are of the curved inclined form illustrated. In the form shown in Fig. 5 these sides G are provided with an ornamental conventional design II.
This design comprises a series of conical stems from which infoliated designs spring oppositely, forming between these oppositelybranehing leaves plain surfaces which are not ornamented.
The leading features of my design consist of the general shape of the stove-base and also of the ornamentation described upon the side and edge panels.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for a stove-base substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for a stove-base having the ornamentation shown and described.
In testimony whereof I airix my name this 7th day of July, 1896.
J. C. BUMP.
