Be it known that I, WILLIAM ELIoT BAR- ROWS, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of 5 Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Gallery for Incandescent Gas- Lights, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, is

Figure 1 is a top view oi' a gallery for an incandescent gas-light, showing my design; and Fig. is an elevational View of the same, also showing my design. These two igures I 5 are deemed necessary to properly illustrate my design.

My design relates to coniigu ration or shape, and it is to be stamped or otherwise placed on or worked into that part of an incandeszo cent gas-light which is usually superposed on the air-shutter and carries the globe, chimney, or shade, and which is commonly designated the gallery The leading or characteristic feature of my 2 5 design maybe said to be an ornamental spider mounted upon a hcmispherical open fret- Work base with an ornamental fillet or band which appears between the two.

The external aspect or appearance which characterizes my design will be better understood by reference tothe accompanying draw- 4o ings, in which it is clearly illustrated, than by verbal description. Accordingly reference is made to the accompanying drawings for an understanding of such aspect or appearance rather than to the precise shape of the vari- 4 5 ous openings f, g, h, and i, although the fact that the opening i is comparatively larger is important, because it affords means of egress for insects which may fall from the light.

NVhat I claim as new, and desire to secure 5o by Letters Patent, is-

The design for a gallery for an incandescent gas-light, substantially as shown and described.
