Be it known that I, EDWARD flooLE, e subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing et Philadelphia, county of Philadelphie, and

5 State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced n new and originel Design for Carpet Fabrics, of which the following is n. full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which 1o forms a part of this specification.

My design, as shown in the drawing, consists in a new design for the body and border of :i carpet fabric.

In the drawing, A represents the body, and

i5 B the border. The body eonsistsoflight :ind dark ground interspersed as shown, and the figures shown in the drawing extending around theuuntiture oflightiand dark ground,

and within said light: and dnrk ground. The border has different ground shades with tignre effects, es shown in euch.

Having now fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

l. In n design fora carpet fabric, the body A substantially as shown.

L. In :t design for :i carpet fabric, the border .Il substantially as shown.

3. The design for a carpet fabric comprising the body A and the border b.
