TO ALL WHOM IT MAYr CONCERN:
Be it known that I, JOHN POLHAMUS, of the city and State of New York, have invented or produced a new and original Design for the Handles of Forks, Spoons, and other articles of table furniture; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full and clear description of the same, reference being had to the annexed photograph, representing my said design as formed upon the handle of a spoon.
At the end of the handle the design consists of an oval, a, with beads around it, the extreme end being in the form of a scallop or shell at On the handle adjoining the oval a is a tapering ornament with a corded ground and honeysuckle blossom ornaments, as at c. The handle is beaded upon its edges. Near the junction of the handle and bowl is an ormanent at d, generally resembling the ornament at e, but smaller. 0n the back of the spoon or forlr, or similar article, is a hearshaped ornament, with scroll beads and honeysuclrlc [lower ornaments, as at e, and a spear-head ornament, extends from the said heartshapcd ornament up the shank of the handle.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for the handle of a fork, spoon, or similar article, as shown and described.
