DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,222; dated April 16, 1895.

Application filed March 14,1895. Serial No. 541,821. Term ofpatcnt 3% years.

To all whom, it may concern.-

Be it known that I, HENRY HORAN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of East Orange, in the county of Essex, State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.

The accompanying drawing is a face view of a portion of a carpet and border embodying my invention.

The body A is characterized by a series of large figures, oval'shaped in general outline, within which are large clusters of leaf and flower forms. In some of these clusters are figures representing fruit.

The border B is characterized by large figures along the inner portion having outward curved sides somewhat resembling the outlines of the large figures in the body A. Within these figures are clusters of leaf and flower forms, some of which have small figures representing fruit as in the body. Along the outer portion are a series of large clusters of leaf and flower forms.

lVhat I claim as my design, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design for a carpet, the body A substantially as shown and described.

2. In a design for a border, the border 13 substantially as shown and described.

3. The design for a carpet, comprising the body A and border B,substantially as shown and described.
