Description
T. SINGLETON. Jr.
No. 23,761. LA EL-Patented Nov. 6, 1894.
FIG. 2.
INVE N T01? ATTORNEY.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS SINGLETON, JR, OF NE? BEDFORD, MASSACHUSETTS, ASSIGNUR. TO THE lAlRlON'l MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A GLASS VESSEL.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,761,dated November 6, 1894.
Application filed October 9. 1894- Serial No. 525.434. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern;
Ile it known that I, Tnonas SINGLETON, Jr., of New Bedford, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Glass Vessel, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a bottom plan view, and Fig. 2 is a central, sectional elevation.
The leading feature of my design consists in a series of diamond-shaped figures arranged around the vessel, each with its upper point at the bottom of a recess in the rim of the dish, and with one under point well down toward the bottom of the vessel, these large diamond-shaped figures being ornamented by cross-cuts which form small ornamental diamond-shaped heads,and being separated, one from another, by two marginal fan figures whose opposed sides are separated by kite-shaped figures, the longer sides of which converge at the bottom of recesses in the rim of the vessel, while their shorter sides converge between the large diamond-shaped figures, just below the side points thereof and opposite the shorter sides of triangular, grooved figures whose longer sides converge at the bottom of the large diamond-shaped figures, the diverging sides of the triangular grooved figures being opposed to figures composed of grooves extended to the bottom of the vessel.
In the drawings, A are diamond-shaped figures whose upper points a are at the bottom of recesses a formed in the rim of the vessel. The under points a are well down toward the bottom of the vessel, and each figure A isornalnented by a series of cross-cuts a which produce small diamond shaped heads u whereby a marked and ornamental appearance is given to each figure A. lhese figures are arranged around the vessel at a distance apart, being separated by two marginal fan-shaped figures B; a kite-shaped figure D intermediate the figures l,and two grooved, triangular figures F. The longer sides rl of the kite-shaped figures converge at the bottom of recesses d in the rim of the vessel, between the heads I) of the figures B, while their shorter sides d converge between the figures A slightly below the side points a thereof. From the shorter sides (1 of figures D, the figures F are extended so as to converge at the under points a of figures A. Between the opposed sides of the triangular figures F are fan-shaped figures G which extend well down to the vessel bottom, which is ornamented with a conventionalized star H.
What I claim is- The design fora glass vessel herein set forth.
THOMAS SINGLETON, JR.
