DESIGN FOR A BRUSH-HANDLE.
SPECIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 22,665, dated August 1, 1893.
Application filed January 18, 1893- Serial No. 458|866l Term of patent 7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FREDERIO L. THOMPSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Bedford, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for 3. Brush Back and Handle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing the same.
Figure 1 is a top plan view of a brush back and its handle. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same, the form and shape of brush being indicated by dotted lines.
The leading feature of my design consists in a plain shield on side of a handle near its outer end, the shield being surrounded by scroll work which, with leaf work, covers the handle side between the plain shield and the inner end of the handle.

Near the outer end of handle A there is a plain shield at surrounded by scroll-work a between which and the inner end of the handle, the side of the handle is ornamented with leaf work a and scroll-work a. The back A is ornamented on its upper surface by buds aand leaves a conibiized With scrolls a which inelose the buds a and leaves a The ornament or pattern for the back proper of the brush is not herein claimed, as that ornament or pattern forms the subject matter of my pending, application, Serial No. 468,567, filed March 31, 1893.
What I claim is- The design for a brush or other handle, substantially as herein shown and described.
