FIG. 3 is a fragmentary planar view of the floor covering showing my new design as it appears in use.

The characteristic feature of my design resides in the combination on a floor covering of the type disclosed of a series of parallel, folded felt strips secured in the center of their longer axis to a backing sheet, the sides of each strip being slitted so as to form relatively wide upstanding fringed rows each alternate strip being superposed by -a narrower, more closely fringed strip, all as shown.

The ornamental design for a floor covering or the like, as shown and described.
