UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY G. ARMSTRONG, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND.
DESIGN FOR A WAGON-BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,214, dated October 21, 1890. Application filed September 22, 1890. Serial No- 365,330- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY O. ARMSTRONG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for WVagon- Bodies, of which the followingis a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photographic view, forming part of this specification.
This invention has reference to the peculiar and novel design of the main Wagon-body independent of the cab or seat for the driver.
The drawing is a photographic view showing the wagon in perspective.
The leading feature of my design consists in the outline and configuration of a fort surmounted with a battlement and forming the main body of the wagon.
A is the main body of the Wagon to which the present invention relates. It consists of a box or body of oblong horizontal section having rounded ends, the cross-section being of practically rectangular form.
B is the drivers seat. (Shown covered by the cab C.) The arched bridge D forms a connection between the seat B and the main body A. The main bodyA is painted to represent a walled fort having a series of ports E and surmounted by a battlement consisting of a series of merlons F, separated by openings or embrasures.
The photograph shows the gun G surmounted on the fort and the flag H supported on a flag-staif over the fort.
Having thus described my newly-invented design, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for a wagon-body herein shown and described, the same comprising the main body having the outline and configuration of a walled fort, and the connection between the seat and the main body having the outline and configuration of an arched bridge, as described.
HENRY o. ARMSTRONG.
