DESIGN FOR A BROOCH OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,716, dated March 25, 1890. Application filed December 10, 1889. Serial 110,333,291. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, EDWARD P. BEACH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Brooches or Similar Articles of Jewelry; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertaius to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to let ters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
In said drawings,Figure 1 represents a face or plan view of my design for a brooch and other similar articles, and Fig. 2 is a side or edge view of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts where they occur.
The two views are deemed sufficient to fully illustrate my design, the leading feature of which consists in the peculiar configuration presented in the surface or face of the brooch or other article, as will be hereinafter set forth and claimed.
Referring to said drawings, a and Z) indicate two wire-like parts formed into or presenting a series of convolutions and curvatures intertwined with one an other in a peculiar manner or form, the part a presenting the appearance of a heavy curvilinear line at the out-er edges or sides and doubled upon itself or twisted at the corners, while the part b presents the appearance of being looped around the part a at the sides and intertwined with it at the corners, leaving an open space at the center of the design for a gem or precious stone, as shown and indicated in Fig. 1.
What I claim is- The design for a brooch or similar article herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 4th day of December, 1889.
