DESIGN FOR A SHELL-BAND FOR WHEEL-HUBS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,168, dated July 14, 1885.
Application died May 20, |883. Term of patent I4 yearn.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, J RED MARIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus. in the county of Franklin and State ofOhio. have invented and produced a new and originel Design for the Ornamentation of Shell-Bands for Wheel-Hubs, of which the following is aspecil cation.
My invention reletes to a design for the ornamentation ofshell-bands for wheel-hubs; and it consists in notches, scallops, or serrations on one or both ends ofa shell-band comprising n hub.
In the accompanying drawings I have represented several different embodiments of my design. Figure 1 illustrates. a sliel1-bnnd having on its inner end scallops A. Fig. Qsliows aband with its innerend provided with notches A. Fig. 3 represents a shell-hand having its opposite ends` scalloped or notched, :is at A A.
Fig. 4 llustratesa shell-bund provided with slight different-shaped notches oriscallops; and
Fig. 5 represents a plan view of a hub, the ends of which are scalloped or notched, as at A A.
The notches or projections on the ends of the band may be varied in size and configuration; hence I do not restrict myself to the particular forms shown and described.
Having fully described my design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a design for shell-bands for ahub. the ornamentation of the same, consisting of notches, scallops, or serrations on one end of said band, as shown and described.
2. In a design for a shelllmnd for a hub, the ornamental-ion of the sume, consisting 0f notches, scallops, or serrations on both ends `of said hand, as shown and described.
