DESIGN FOR A RUG.
"BI-ECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,147, dated July 7, 1885 A pplralion filed Juno 1, 1885.
To all whom it may concern:
lie it known that l, RICHARD PAUL HEM- MING, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Rug; and I do hereby declare that the photographic print accompanying this specification conveys to any one skilled in the art a clear understanding of the same, and is sufiieient to enable such persons to use my invention.
The leading features of my design consist in a triple-panel center. The middle panel is ornamented with a floral design, the end panels a floral design on a mosaic ground. At the bottom of the middle panel is a long narrow panel ornamented by a floral design. The panels are divided by a narrow border put together in form ofa rustic frame, the center panel having braces at the lower corners.
Term of patent 11g 0am The whole is surrounded by a border having a mosaicground, as shown in the photographic print accompanying this specification.
The photographic print illustrates and represents one half of the design or rug. The other half described, but not shown, is exact- 1y like it.
What I claim as my invention is- The design fora rug, consisting of a triple panel center; the middle panel representing a floral ornamentation, the end panels a floral design on a mosaic ground, a long narrow panel below the center panel having a floral ornamentation, the whole surrounded by borders representing a rustic frame, as shown and described.
