To all whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, Jams L. FoLsoM, of Brooklyn, in the State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a. specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph,whi ch forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be Worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

The design consists of four Bower groups, the intervening spaces being filled in with small geometric work.' The group in the upper center of the photograph consists of several large leaf forms and open flowers loosely massed, having projecting sprays of shadow leaves. The group shown in the lower center` of the photograph has large central leaf forms and flower clusters and projecting lichen. sprays and shadow leaves.
