Be it known that the undersigned, Edward C. Hofimann, a citizen of the United States, residing at St. Louis, State of Missouri, has invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for a Desk Writing Unit or Similar Article, of which the following i a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof, in which:

Fig. 1 is a front perspective view of a desk writing unit or similar article showing the new design; and

Fig. 2 is a rear perspective view thereof.

The essential features of my design reside in the parts shown in full lines.

The ornamental design for a desk writing unit or similar article, substantially as shown and described.
