DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.

Application filed April 24, 1882. Term 0f patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HERMAN IHLENBUEG, (assigner to MACKELLAE, SMITHs 8i J oEDAN,) of the city and county of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Printing- Type, ol'which the following is a specification.
The nature of my design is clearly shown in the accompanying typographie impression, to which reference is made; and it consists of a script letter of the class known as backhand, shaded upon the right and bottom by a heavy line, followed by a lightline-,and ornainented by a groundwork of curved tendrillike ornaments, as shown. In addition to the curved tendril-like ornaments which constitute the groundwork, as shown, the curved tendrillike ornaments shown upon the right and left of the U, V, W, X, Y, and Z are also employed to ornament the letters of the font.
The lowercase of the font is composed of the letters, as shown, shaded upon the left by the light lines, which form, as it were, contnuations of the letters and connect them t0- gether.
Having now described my invention, Iclaim as new- The design for a font of printing-type, as shown and described.
