To all whom it may concern:

lie it known that I,U1IRIS'1IAN HER/PER, oi. the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for \Valllaper, of which the iollowing is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration, making part of this specification, and in which A represents the body, and I the border, of the wall-paper. The body A is separated by a horizontal band, U, from the border 13, a similar band, 0', running alongside the other edge of the same. In the body A of the wall paper are arranged sets of four vertical stripes, a, which are equidistant from each other, a larger space, I), separating one set of stripes from the adjoining sets. Over the stripes and intermediate spaces are strewn or distributed in irregular manner conventional flowers d, of different size and character.

The vertical Stripes (4 are continued above the border 0, and there terminated by horizontal bars, which, in connection with an intersecting angular figure, form a step-shaped ornament,

The step-shaped ornaments, formed by the binding off of the stripes (r, are repeated in symmetrical manner at the upper edge of the border, said ornaments 0' being connected with each other, and shown as being suspended from the inner line of the band C.

From the upper step-shaped ornaments, c, are suspended baskets f, which are filled with the same conventional flowers as those shown on the body of the wallpaper. The oblong baskets f are placed intermediately between the stcpshapcd ornaments c (1, while in the space between the baskets are arranged tiedotl ribbons and medallions g, which are sus pended from conventional flowers placed into the center of the upper step-shaped figures, substantially as shown.

Vi hat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. The design for a wallpaper, consisting of sets of parallel stripes, and of conventional flowers distributed irregular] y over the stripes and intermediate spaces, as shown and described.

2. The design for a border for wallpaper, consisting of step-shaped orl'iament-s c a, hang-- ing baskets j, and intermediate hanging and tied-off ribbons and medallions g, as shown and described.

3. The design for a wall-paper border, com posed of bands 0 U, symmetrical step-shaped ornaments c e, suspended flower-baskets f, and intermediate tieiboft' ribbons and mcdallions g, as shown and described.
