DESIGN FOR HANDLES OF SPOONS, LADLES, 840.
Specification forming part of Design N0. 10,436, dated February 5,1878; application filed January 19, 1878- [Term of patent 315 years] To all whom z'tvmay concern:
Be it known that I, MORGAN MORGANS, Jr., of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, State of New York, lhave originated and designed a Pattern for Handles of Spoons, Ladles,Fo1-ks, and Knives, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which represents a photographic view of my design.
This design relates to the contour of the handle, and to the ornaments on its face.
The handle A is flaring toward its outer end, which has two shoulders, a a, and an intervening semicircular member, b. The face of said handle is ornamented by the figure c of an angel, who is engaged in blowing two trumpets, d. One foot of this angel is raised, and the other rests upon an oval eseutoheon, e, from which is suspended a chain, f, of leaves. Belowr this chain is a raised bar, g, from which is suspended a chain, h, of flowers.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design` for the handle of a spoon, la-
dle, fork, or knife, consisting of the flaring end, square shoulders a a, semiciroular member b, and figure c of an angel intervening between the square shoulders, substantially as shown and described.
2. The design for the handle of a spoon, ladle, fork, or knife, consisting of the ligure o of an angel and the two trumpets d, substantially as shown and described.
3. rlhe design for the handle of a spoon, la dle, fork, or knife, consisting of the figure o, of an angel, the oval escntcheon e, and the chain f of leaves, as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 15th day of J annary, 1878.
