To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, HENRY W. BROEMMEL- SIEK, a citizenof the United States, and resident of St. Louis, Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Druggists Label-Cabinets, of which the following is a specification containing a full, clear, and exact description, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof.

My invention relates to improvements in druggists label cabinets, the object of my invention being to construct a cabinet, for holding labels, having movable partitions so that the cabinet may be adapted to contain labels of different sizes.

A further object of my invention is to construct a cabinet in which the operation of selecting labels, one at a time, is facilitated.

For the above purposes my invention consists in certain novel features of construction and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, pointed out in the claims and illustrated by the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a front elevation of the complete cabinet; Fig. 2 is a sectional plan taken on the line 22 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a trans verse, sectional elevation taken approximately on the line 33 of Fig. 1; Fig. 4 is a fragmental, sectional elevation taken on the line 44 of Fig. 2; and Fig. 5 is a trans verse, sectional elevation illustrating the means for holding one of the movable partitions.

Referring 'by numerals to the accompanying drawing: 1 designates the bottom of the cabinet which is transversely slotted throughout its length, the slots being equally spaced apart. At the forward margin of the bottom and on the upper face thereof is a metallic strip 2 having an integral, troughshaped extension 8 projecting beyond the margin of the bottom 1.

4-4 designate the end walls of the cabinet, each forward margin of which is concaved at 5 adjacent its lower end, and secured to each forward face of each end wall 4 there is a metallic strip 6 projecting inwardly beyond the inner face of the end wall and which strip conforms with the forward margin of the end wall.

7 designates the rear of the cabinet which is provided with a plurality of grooves 8 alining with the slots in the bottom.

9 designates the hinged cover for the cabinet.

As shown in Fig. 3, the rear wall 7 is of less height than the end walls 4 and the cover is secured to the end walls in such manner as to be opened without any of its parts projecting rearwardly beyond the face of the rear wall so that when the cabinet is suspended from a wall the cover may be opened.

11 designates movable partitions, each of which has an integral tongue 12 at its lowermost margin arranged to be inserted in one of the slots in the bottom of the cabinet. The forward face of each partition is shaped to conform with the end walls and each partition is provided with a strip 13 projecting laterally from each face of the partition. The rearmost margin of the partition, when placed in the cabinet, occupies one of the grooves 8 in the rear wall. In the above de scribed manner the partitions are each rigidly secured in place.

14 designates a follower which is secured to a supporting device 15 which is substantially triangular shaped and of a thickness to be supported over one of the slots in the bottom of the cabinet. Each of the supporting devices is provided with an integral extension 16 of less thickness than the supporting device proper and extending downwardly from its lower margin through one of the slots in the bottom of the cabinet. The extension 16 carries a means to prevent its being moved vertically, the means shown being a perforation through the extension and a split pin inserted through the perforation and engaging with the lower face of the bottom 1. As shown, these followers are made of different widths as required to be employed in connection with labels of different sizes.

In the practical operation the druggist, after selecting the labels he desires to place in the cabinet, spaces the partitions to correspond with the widths of the labels, then places a follower between each pair of partitions. The labels are then inserted in an inclined position and rested upon the followers, the followers being drawn up as shown in Fig. 3 until the foremost label reaches the strips on the forward faces of the partitions.

By reason of the curvature given to the labels by the concaved strips, the lower ends of the labels are more or less separated from each other thus facilitating the selecting of a single label, the trough 3 serving to prevent more than a single label being drawn at a time.

I claim:

1. In a druggists label cabinet, a compartment for holding labels, a fixed curved member for engagement with the labels to bend them at their one end only, a movable follower forv holding the labels in an inclined position against said fixed curved member, and means for securing said follower in a fixed position against the labels.

2. In a device of the class described, a slotted bottom, a grooved back, end walls having their forward margins concaved adjacent their bottoms, strips secured to the end walls conforming with their forward margins and extended inwardly beyond the inner faces of the end walls, movable partitions held in place by said slotted bottom and grooved back, the for ard margins of the partition being shaped to conform with the end walls, strips secured to the forward margins of each partition, and a follower movably arranged between each pair of partitions.

In a device of the class described, a slotted bottom, a grooved back, a hinged cover, end walls having their forward margins concaved adjacent their bottoms, strips secured to the end walls conforming with their forward margins and extended inwardly beyond the inner faces of the end walls, movable partitions held in place by said slotted bottom and grooved back, the forward margins of the partitions being shaped to conform with the end walls, strips secured to the forward margins of each partition, and a follower movably arranged between each pair of partitions.

4c. In a device of the class described, a slotted bottom, a grooved back, a cover, end walls having their forward margins concaved adjacent their bottoms, strips secured to the end walls conforming with their forward margins and extended inwardly beyond the inner faces of the end walls, movable partitions held in place by said slotted bottom and grooved back, the forward margins of the partitions being shaped to conform with the end walls, strips secured to the forward margins of each partition, a follower movably arranged between each pair of partitions, and a trough extending 1ongi tudinally of the cabinet and projecting forwardly from the upper face of the bottom of the cabinet.
