Be it known that I, S. PARK Coon, of the city and county oi" Milwaukee, and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Improvement'. in Skipping- Ropes and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', which will enable these skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had te the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specioatien,'in whichgnre l is a View of the rope, ready for use.

The letters of reference in the figure indicate the particular parts. v

The object of my invention is to produce a skippingrope which shall be ornamental and useful, with bells on it, which shall keep time to the-movements of the child using it.

The rope is made of hemp, or any other suitablematerial, made large inthe centre, and tapering gradually at each end, terminating in a handle made of any suitable material at each end, and revolving in the handles, so that the child can hold the handles permanently.

A is the rope.

B are the bells.

C are the handles.v

The rope passes into or through the handles, with a knob on the end, so that it een turn easily.

Operation.

lthan at the ends, whirls gracefully, and keeps clear of the drapery.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- A As a new article of mannfacture, the skipping-rope having the swelled centre, the handles G, and bells B,

-as herein shown and described.
