EGG-TURNING TRAY FOR INCUBATORSQ Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed October 4,
Patented Oct. 18, 1910, 1909. SerialNo. 520,770.
To all whom it may concern:
'lSe it lmown that l, (il-IURHE 1*. Burma, :1
citizen oi the. United States, residing at tS pem-erville, in the county oi .\llen and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful lmprotements in Egg-'lurning Trays for Incubators, of which the following is a specification, reference being had 1 therein to the accompanying drawing. This invention relates to an incubator tray of such a character and construction that, the eggs while resting therein may be turned without handling and has for its object the production or a tray which is simple in construction, etlicient in operation and consists of a comparatively small rum- 2 her of parts. 7
Another object of this inrention is the provision of means for facilitating the-turning of eggs while the same are carried by the tray.
invention COD-LStS of certain novel constructious; combinations and arrangements of parts as will be he einafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the tray. Fig, 2 is a bottom plan 1 view of the same. l ig. 3 is. a longitudinal section ot the tray, and Fig. it is a section f taken on line. 4--l of Fig. 3. 1
Referring to the drawings by numerals (1) designates the body which carries neat each end a roller (2) and a screen frannis carried by the body (1) intermediate the rolleis (2). The screen frai'ne (3) is pro-1 Titled with a, transversely extending ecu-E \rally arranged member t). The frame is covered by a wire fal'iric (5).
An endless apron ((3) travels n Hill the rollers (2) and this apron is provided centrally thereo't' with an aperture (7) which is reinforced by means of stitches around the edge thereof. The aperture (7) of the endless apron (6) is adapted to be upon the bottom of the tray as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, and it will be readily obvious that by placing a finger 111 the aperture that the apron (6) can be moved upon the rollers in any desired position and will in this manner rotate or turn the eggs which are adapted to be carried by the apron (i. It will therefore be obvious that I have provided a very et'iirh-nt and simple means for rotating the eggs or moving the endless apron (6).
A rack (S) is carried by the top of the body (l) and comprises a pair of side memiltl'n (it) and end members (10). The side nien'ihers (9) are substantially L-shaped in cross section and are adapted to rest upon the sides of the frame (1) as clearly shown in Fig. 4. The side members are provided with a longitudinally extending depending portion (11) which is adapted to engage the inner face of the sides of the body (1) thereby preventing lateral movement of the rack. The rack (8). is also provided with transvcrsely extending members (12) which are equally spaced apart. These members (12) are secured at their respective ends to the side members to) of the rack. An egg is adapted to be positioned between each of the rods or members 12 and it will therefore be obvious that as the apron 6 travels upon the rollers 55 that the eggs will be readily allowed to rotate without, coming in contact 1 with each other.
What I claim as my invention is: In a device 01 the kind described, a frame, a roller arqacent. each end ot the frame and extending transversely across said frame, an endless apron extending over said rollers and provided with an opening in its under portion, and a guard screen of wire fabric carried on said frame between said rollers and in spaced relation to the upper and lower portions of said apron, whereby an object introduced through the opening is prevented from striking against the upper portion of said apron. In testimony-wherwf I hereunto atfix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
F. BUYER. Witnesses:
