To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LOUISE NELsON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Coin-Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in coin-holders and more particularly 'to that class which may be attached to a womans dress, the object being to rovide means whereby coins may be safe y carried and readily withdrawn by the wearer when desired.

.A further object is to provide a device as stated that shall be ornamental, inexpensive of construction, and convenient in use. And a further object is to provide a modified form of the device which may serve as a belt buckle as well as a coin-holder.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

' With these objects in view my'invention consists in the novel construction and arrangement of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and more particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

My invention further consists in a modified form of coin-holder, the same, however, possessing the same essential features as the preferred form and adapted to be used as a belt buckle.

My invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which,

Figure 1 is a erspective view of my improved coin-hol er in its preferred form, Fig. 2 is a rear elevation thereof, Fig. 3 is a rear elevation, parts being broken away to expose the coins in the interior of the holder, Fig. 4 is a front elevation of the modified form of coin-holder showing the same attached to a womans belt Fig. 5 is a rear elevation thereof, Fig. 6 1s a detail section taken on line 12-41: of Fig. 2, and Fig. 7 is a detail view showing the lower portion of one end of a spring used in the device.

Referring now'to the drawings, 1 desig nates a flat casing and 2 and 3 coin slots formed therein in the periphery thereof, the latter being substantially diametrically opposite. The spring catc 4 struck up from the back of the casing 1 is designed to permit the insertion of coins 5 but to prevent their withdrawal, this feature being plainly shown in Fig. 6. The thickness of the casmg is sufficient to allow the coins of the denomination used to be arran ed on edge therein, so that gravity will a ways cause Secured to the back of the casing by means of lips 6 struck u side of, and spring catch 4 extends slightly above the top of said casing thus facilitating introduction of coins.

The modified form of coin-holder shown in Fig. 4.- is constructed similar to the preferred form exce t that plate 10 is substituted for the safety pin, said plate being riveted to the back of the casing and having a slot 11 formed therein for permanent engagement to one end of a belt 12 and a hook 13 to engage slots 14 provided in the other end of said belt. An ornamental face plate 15 may be provided on the front of the casing if so desired.

While I have shown what I deem to be the preferable forms of my invention I do not wish to be limited thereto as there might be various charilges made in the details of construction an arrangement of parts described without departlng from my invention, and hence I desire to avail myself of such changes and alterations as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of the appended claim.

Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
