Letters Patent No. 96,969, dated November 16, 1869.
IMPROVED SASH-PULLEY.
- The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same. A
AI, BENOIT ROUX, of Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton, and State of Ohio, have invented a certain lmproved Sash-Pulley, of which the following is a speciication. A, v
My invention consists 'in a cheap, simple, and eective construction of sash-pulley, housing, or boxing, in three castings.
' Figure l is a perspective view of a sash-pulley, embodying my invention.
Figures 2 and 3 are a rear and a side elevation of the face-plate.
Figure 4 is anoutside elevation of the left cheek.
Figure 5 is a side elevation of the sheave.
A is the oblong rectangular face-platebf the boxing, said plate having the customary central slot a for a common sheave, B, and holes a for the wood-screws, whereby the pulley is fastened in ,its stile.
Projecting from the rear sidefj o'f the plate A-are stumps C C', whose recesses, c c', are adapted to receive and hold lugs dll', which project from the cheeks D D'. The checks D 1) have circular orifices E, which serve as the journal-bcarings of the sheave.
Cast within thc stumps C C are two wrought-iron lips, F F', which, being clenched over the lugs d d', as shown in fig. 1, hold them securely within their conining-notches or recesses c c'. The lips F F may, it' desired, be eut from ordinary round wire, and so used.
It will be seen that my pulley-boxing consist-s of three very simple members, capable of being cast without cores irra common green-sand mould.
The lugs ll d' being wedged firmly into the recesses c c' by the clenched lips F F', are firmly held together by the sides oi' the recesses.
I claim, as my invention- The sash-pulley boxing herein described, consisting of the three members, A, I), and D', the cheek-plates I) D being secured together, and t-o the face-plate A,
-by stumps C C and lips F F', substantially as ex plained.
In testimony of' which invention, I hereunto setmy hand.
' BENOIT ROUX.
