Patented Felt. i5, i910.
To all whom it may concern:
Be yit knownV that. I, CONRAD J. Donrr, a citizen ot the United States of America., and a resident of Chicago, in the county o Cook and State of illinois, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Fuses for Electric Circuits, of which the following is a specification.
'.lhis invent-ion relates vto that type of 'fusesv 'tor electric circuits in which a supporting strip of insulating material is provided aty its respective ends with terminal bindings, which in turn are connected to* gelber by an attenuated Wire of lead or like material cemented to the insulating strip aforesaid and adapted to fuse under an exross il current and open the circuit; and the object oit' the present :improvementis to provide a simple and eiiicient structural arraugen'ient of `parts in a fuse. of the type above mentioned, whereby the attenuated and fragile iiuse Wire is protected -troni abrasion and fracture during l'iandling, shipment and use,l all as will hereinafter more 'fully a p pear.
ln the accompanying drawings :Figure l e front elevation of a fuse embodying the present invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section at line eu-a Fig. l., Fig. 3 is a transverse section at .line w- Fig. l.

Referring to the draivin'gs:-1 represents the supporting strip ci insulating material, and usually formed of two sheets of mica placed one on the other and bound together' at their ends by w ripping-s 2 of thin sheet copper-'or -the like; such 'wrappiugs constituting the respective terminals of' the t: e y
provement shown in the drawings, the chender by which a positive conductive connection is effected between the respective ends of the fuse wire and said terminals or Wrappings.
Having thus fully described my said invention, what l cla1m.as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, isfn l. A fuse for electric circuits, comprising a thin rectangular and flexible strip ol insulating material formed with a; shallow longitudinal channel, sheet metal terminals wrapped upon the ends of said strip, and
longitudinal fuse Wire arranged in said channel and electrically connected at its ends to said terminals, said channel protecting the fuse Wire from abrasion in handling the fuse.`
, 2. A lnse for electric circuits, comprising a supporting strip of insulating material, sheet metal terminals on the ends of said strip, and a fuse Wire extending between the terminals, the said strip having a longitudinal channel for the receptioinot said fuse wire and the said terminals having depressed portions fitting said channels and adapted to receive the small masses of solder by which the terminals are electrically connected to the fuse Wire. e
3. A. fuse for electric circuits, comprising a. supporting strip of insulating materia J sheet metal terminals on the ends of sain ot ctober, 190i.
