Description
- G. SGHWARTING. CORNER CONNECTION FOR FRAMES AND THE LIKE- APPLICATION FILED MAY 28 1908.
Patented June 1, 1909.
CHRISTIAN SOHWARTING, OF STROHHAUSEN, GERMAE'NY.
CORNER CONNECTION FOR FRAMES AND THE LIKE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 1, 1909.
Application filed May 28, 1908. Serial No. 435,418.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN SCHWART- ING, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of Strohhausen, in Oldenburg, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in and Relating to Corner Connections for Frames and the Like, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my present invention relates to a connection of the corners of any sort of frame-connections by which a solid and durable connection is attained. The usual connection by means of glue is dispensed with.
My invention can be used for chairs, tables and the like just as well as for picture-frames, boxes, and the like.
A special advantage of my invention consists therein that the connected parts can be easily taken apart if desired.
In the accompanying drawing in which I have illustrated my invention the same is used for a foot-stool.
Like letters of reference refer to like parts throughout the different views.
In said drawings Figure 1 shows a verti cal section of the foot-stool. Fig. 2 shows a plan-view of Fig 1.
The rods (1 of the frame are provided with pins 1) which engage the vertical rods in this case the feet 0. Angle pieces 01 are connected by means of screws 6 near the ends of the bars a. The legs of said angle-piece which are now placed opposite each other are provided with holes having different threads into which a screw 9 is screwed in having a quad rangular center part f and a left-hand and a right-hand thread. The quadrangular part serves to engage a key if the screw is screwed fast or unscrewed. Each corner of the frame provides such connection whereby a solid and stable connection of the frame without the use of glue or the like is attained.
WVhat I claim as new and desire to secure by a United States Letters Patent is In a corner connection for frames and the like the combination of right angularly bent angle irons fixed to the ends of two neighboring rails of a frame and being provided with screwholes on the sides facing each other, and a screw providing a central quadrangular part and having a left and a right hand thread engaging the screw holes of said facing legs of said angle irons, substantially as described and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
OHRISTIAN SCHWARTING.
Witnesses HANS MEIsSUER, ALF. DIGKE.
