A. S. DINSMORE, OF NEYV YORK, N.
Letters Patent No. 91,922, dated June 29, 1869.
IMPROVEMENT IN ING-ATTACHMENT FOR SEWING-MACHINES.
- The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a side view of the forward part of the arm of a sewing-machine, showing the tucker attached to its presser-foot.
Figure'2 is a side view of the tucker, showing it attached to the resser-foot.
Figure 3 is a detail perspective view of the tucker.

I My invent-ion has for its object to furnish an improved tucker for sewing-machines, which shall be so constructed that it' may be conveniently attached to and detached from the ordinary presser-foot of a sewing-machine, and which will enable narrow tucks to be conveniently and accurately formed; and
It consists in the tucker, constructed as hereinafter more fully described, in combination with the ordinary presser-foot of a sewing-machine.
A represents the forward part of the arm of a sewing-machine.
B represents the presser-foot, which is constructed and attached to the arm A, in the ordinary manner.
0 is the tucker, which is a small rectangular plate, having a narrow rib formed upon its under side, along its inner edge-,next to the gauge, so that the said rib may press upon and hold the -fold of the cloth being sewed, while the other part of said tucker moves over The tucker 0 must be attached to the presser-foot,
B, in such a position that the hole for the needle, in the said tucker C, may be directly beneath the hole for the needle in the presser-foot B, so that the neethe may pass through both holes at the same time.
This construction enables the tucker to be easily and conveniently attached to and removed from the sewing-machine, without its being necessary to disturb the position of any of the other parts of the machine.
The rib is formed on that side of the tucker next the gauge, which is attached to the bed-plate of the machine, and the plait being laid, bears against said gauge .when in operation.
Having thus described my invention,
I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent-'- The tucking-attachment secured to the resser-foot, y
