SUPPORT FOR ELECTRIC WIRES OR CONDU'CTORS.
['0 all whom it may concern:
I31 it known that l, CORNELIUS (iULLD, .t citizen oi the United States, residing in the rity and county of Philadelphia, State oi Pennsylvania, have invented it new and useful Sup )ort for Electric Wires or (,ionductors, ol' hie i the following is a specification.
My invention consists of a support for an electric wire or conductor, the some being constructed whereby the latterinay be readily applied thereto and PIBVGlltGClfl'Oll'l displacement therefrom.
Figure I re iresents a longitudinal section of a support lor an electric wire or conductor embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents an elevation of ii detached portion thereof. Fig. 3 represents a perspective a coveiing cap that may e cinployod. Fig. 4 re )resents a partial longitudinal section am partial side elevation. of a modification. Fig. 5 represents an end View of a detached portion thereof.

Referring to the drawings: A designates a post which is secure-L to the standard or any suitable nniinicr. designates a collar which is (molested with and supported on the inner end of said post and has its outer end. open as at l).
E designates a. sleeve of the form of a coil of resilient material, the same encircling the postA :ind having its inner end entering the collar i.
()n the lorv. ai'd cud oil which iorms a. shoulder F liereinaft er desci'i bed i "1e operation is as follows: The sleeve i is placed on, the post A and the wire or condoctor pressed between the coiivolutions of the sleeve and wrapped around whereby the oonvolutions are expanded or separated and the inner end of said sleeve is 'orced against the wall C at the inner ter- Jillliill of the collar U, thus compressing the sleeve against said wall, thus tightly holdiiu, the wire or conductor engaged with the sleeve and the post. The portion of the wirr or conductor that occupies a position about the shoulder F is then bent inwardly against and around the same, thus locking sleeve and preventing outward Ill-:LC'GlllUlllthereof. The wire or conductor which inn terininnte at one end at the shoulder I may have its length passed 011 he post A is a recess lor a purpose to be Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed March 25, 190B.
