.Be it known that I, HARRY hZlARSH, a citi- Z en of the. United States, residing at Jamestown, in thecounty of Chautauqua and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Tip- Holders for Billiard-Cues, of which the following is a specification.

The circular (plate 14 abuts the inner end of the one tip and, being held from rotation by means of. its lugs 15 engaging within the slots 6, rotation of the nut 12 causes a longii tudinaldisplacem'ent of the threaded stein 13 and its plate 14 and the cue tip C, forcing said tip outwardly or moving inwardly de- I pendent upon the direction'of such rotation, the nut 12 being held from sidewise movement between the end of the cylindrical tube 2 and the circular internal flange 11 of the clamping sleeve 1.
It. will beunderstood that in assembling the device the nut 12 is inserted in position within the clamping sleeve 1 before said sleeve is forced over the cylindrical tube 2 and the contracted end of thecue A. I claim: 1. In a cue tip holder of the character described, the combination of a clampin sleeve adapted to fit the end of a cue and havin theret irough and a plurality of s ring tongues extending from the outer end t ereof, said spring tongues being adapted to hold.
centrally disposedalined openings a cue tip slidably therein, an operating sleeve for engagement upon said clamping sleeve andprov1ded with a contracted end to force said springv tongtpes into engagement with said tip, a rotata le nut mounted within said clamping sleeve opposite said alined open ings, and provided with a threaded bore, means to prevent sidewise movement of said nut therein, said means assisting in securing said clamping sleeveto the end-of the cue, a
threaded stem extending through said threaded bore in said nut and carrying a plate upon its outer end, said plate abuttin the rear end of said one tip and having latera ly extending lugs projecting between pairs of said spring tongues to revent rotation of said plate and said threa ed stem, whereby longitudinal movement will be imparted to the same upon the rotation of said nut, substantially as de scribed.
2. In a cue ti holder of the character described, the com ination with a one having a steam hold a cue ti slidably therein, an 0 relating sleeve threa ed to screw upon said ing sleeve and provided with a contracted end to force said spring ton ues into engagement with said tip, a rotata le nut mounted within said clamping sleeve 0 osite said alined openings and provided wlt a thrcaded bore, means to prevent sidewise moveing between pairs of said spring tongues to prevent rotation of said plate and said threaded stern, whereby longitudinal move-- rnent will be im arted to the same upon the rotation of said nut, substantially as described.
