To all whom it may concern: y Be 1t known that I, SAMUEL A. MORE- HOUSE, of Ashgrove, county of Tippecanoe, and State ofv Indiana, have invented acertain new and useful Distributing-Spent; and I do hereby declare that the following isa full, clear, andexact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which likerletters' refer to like part-s..
'I he objectof this invention'is to improve the construction of distributing spouts for distributing grain'l and the like from the elevator or other supply.
It is particular y adapted for-distributing grain from one central supply to a number of bins, and the distributingy spout is so artory, of means .extending up axial line with the revolub e ranged that it can be moved into communication withany onecf afnumber of pi es or chutes leading to drflerent bins. The chief feature of y'the invention for accomplishing the object mentioned is the combinationvwith' a telescopic'spout' mounted in an inclined position and revoluble or oscillathrough or in or oscillatory support for the spout for shortening or withdrawing the telescopic spout from one bin pipe or hopper to another. Thus the device may be a apted to be oscillated or revolved into communication with a number of hoppers or bin pipes and yet the means for shortening the spout will always be in the same osition and equally accessible at all times or operation.
The general nature of this invention will be understood rom the accompanying drawings and the following description andv claims In the drawings Figure 1 is a side elevation of the distributing spout and a number of hoppers and pipes leading to bins, with the iioor o1l means for supporting the same in vertical section, parts being broken away and the changed position of parts shown .byu fdotted lines. Fig. 2 is a section onthe line 2-2 of Fig. 1 through the distributing spout.

'A licor or other support 10 has mounted in it a number of hop ers 11 in communication with pipes 12 lea ing to various bins into which it is desired to distribute the grain from some source `of supply in communication with the hopper 13, from which a distributing pipe 14 leads. 'Ihe various hoppers 11 are arran ed around a common center and in a circ e so that* the distributing spout 14 which extends down from the hopper 13 at aninclination may, by being revolved, be brought. in line andincoinmunie cation with any one of said hoppers 11.
'lhe distributing spout 14 has a telescoping section 15 on the lower end thereof, consisting l,of a short tube having a pair of parallel arms 16 slotted at 17 to reciprocate on the pins 18 from opposite sides of the spout 14, and the upper ends of arms 16 are turned at a right angle and extend beyond the spout 14 and are united, as seen in l* ig. .2, yoke-like to form the combined arm 19 `from which the spring 20 extends to a brace 21 connected with spout 14. lhis spring 20 tends to force the telescopic section downwardly to lengthen thespout.
he spout 14 is mounted on a tubular support 22 rotatably, said support being co-axial with the upper end of the spout 14 and being carried by the collar 23 that is secured to it and which rests upon the elevated rectangular frame 24 that is secured upon the iloor 10. The brace 21 extends from the spout 14 to said support 22 so that the spout 14, the
` brace 21 and the support 22 are rigidly secured togetherand revolve together. They are revolved or oscillated by a sheave wheel 25 that is horizontally secured on the support 22and is actuated bythe cable 26 that runs over a pulley 27 on the frame 28 that is mounted on the floor 10, and from said pulley to a pilot wheel 29 that is mounted below on the upright 30.
The tubular support 22 is out away at 130 on one side and has a band 31 around it that carries a pulley 32 overwhich a cord 33 passes that at one end is secured to the coni-l bined end 19 of the arinjll from the telescopic member 15 and from said pulley 32 said cord 33 extends down through the tubular support 22 and a hole 34 in the floor to, some accessible point Jfor operation.
In operation when it is desired to move the distributing spout from one hopper 11 to another, the cord 33 is drawn downwardly to disengage the telescopic member 15 of the distributing spout from a hopper and while in that position the pilot wheel 29 is operated, whereby the distributing spout 1s swung around to the desired hopper.
