To all vwhom 'it may concern.'
Be it known that l, JOHN JAMES RYAN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Memphis, in the county of Shelby` and State of Tennessee, have invented. new and useful Details of Construction for a Shore-Anchor, of which the following is a full, clear, and eX- act description.
This invention relates to stationary/means for temporarily anchoring ioating vessels or other floating objects along the shore of a stream.
For the temporary holding of a vessel, raft or other floating object close to the shore of a river or other Waterway, it is often found necticular point; and the object of my present invention is to provide novel features of construction for a device of the character indicated, which are simple and practical, and afford a very secure shore-anchor that may be readily placed in position and removed, as may be desired, a further object being to provide additional noveland advantageous details of construction for the shore-anchor patented by me November 17, 1896 Number 571,624.

Reference is to be had to the accompany-- ing drawings forming a part of this specification, Vin whlch similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views. Figure 1 is a side elevational view of the improved anchor in position for service; Fig. 2 isl an enlarged sectional plan view of one example of my improvement, taken sub` stantially on the line 2-2 in Fig. 1 Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view, substantially on the line 3-3 in Fig. 2; Fig. 4 is a detached perspective view of a slightly changed novel detail, and Fig. 5 is a transverse sectional view of`details, on the line 5-5 in Fig. 2, taken at right angles tothe section-line 3 3 in'said figure.
The anchor comprises a preferably cy,-

To this end, any desirednumber of the anchor posts are employed, these being arranged in sequence, spaced apart, and all connectedtogether by one or more coupling bolts 15.

aving described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent: 1. The combination with a post having a threaded lower portion and a collar thereon, of a base late having a radial slot therein, a eriphera depending flange thereon, said ase late being mounted'upon the post below t e collar, an arm extended from the base plate, an anchor blade depending from the outer end of the arm, andmeans for closing the slot in the base plate.
2. The` combination with a post having a threaded lower portion and a'collar thereon above the thread, of a radially slotted base plate, a peripheral depending` flange on said ase plate, an anchor blade, an arm on said blade, and clamping means for securing said arm radiallyv rojected from the base plate,
said means a so closing the slot therein.
3. The combination with an anchor post having a thread on its lower portion, a collar thereon above the thread, and a clevis link on the postl above the collar, of a base late having a depending flange on its perip ery, said base plate being radially slotted, an arm, a depending anchor blade on the outer end of said arm, and clamping plates for securing the arm on the base plate over the radial slot, said clamping plates also closing the slot.
