Be it known that I, ELMER ZEBLEY. TAY- LOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at 46v Peartree street, Goswell Road, London, l
E land, have invented Milli-Receptacles, of specification. This invention relatesv to an improvement in the construction of vessels of Ithe class which are formed mainly or entirely of paper and are suitable for containing liquid or other produce, being especially applicable for use in the delivery of milk to customers, the cost of materials and of production being so sli ht that after having been once used the vesse may be destroyed, thus avoiding the risk of transmission of infectious diseases, while at the same time the retailer isy spared the large original outlay for and the cost of collecting and cleaning the cans or bottles usually em loyed..

In carrying out this invention Vthe upper edge of the vessel 1 is doubled inwards all round for a suitable distance, as shown at 2,' and such doubled-in portion then pressed out preferably until the lower edge thereof Vis substantially flush with the inner surface of the main body, whereby an enlar ement or projection 3 will be formed aroun the outside of the rim, against which the upper edge of the vessel below will abut when a number are nested together.

| maybe effected by providing the machinery used in the manufacture of the vessels with an annular ring the interior surface of which is of the same shape and size as the exterior surface it is desired to im art to the vessel. The latter with its turner in upper edge is placed in such ring andy a suitable ap liance 1s inserted in the vessel to press out t e material thereof to fit the interior surface ofthe annular ring. Or if desired the pressing out operation may be performed by means of rollers. The enlargement or projection '3 formed will preferably be vertical, instead of following'the taper form of the main body 1 of the'vessel.
Whatl claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A paper vessel folded inwardly and downwardly to form a reinforcedy u er marginal portion, said inwardly folded margin being unconnected with the body of the vessel said portion being forced outwardly at a point adjacent' the free edge of said'downwardly folded margin to form an annular projection on the outside of the vessel, said on its inner surface.
2. A paper vessel having its upper margin folded inwardly against its inner face to form a reinforced margmal portion, said inwardly folded margin being unconnected with the body of the vessel said portion being forced outwardly to form an annular projection on the outside of the vessel at a point adjacent thefree edge of said inwardly turned portion so as to effect engagement between said edge and said shoulder to brace the latter, said reinforced portion being forced outwardly sufi'ciently to bring its inner face substantially ilush with the inner face or surface of the body of the portion may serve to take up the strain imposed by .nested vessels.
3.
