To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that 1, ANDREW GAUL, Jr.,

a citizen of the United States, and resident of Ridgefield, in the county of Bergen and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful Improvement in FeedBags, of which the following is a specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a portable feed bag for use in supplying animals with food, said feed bag being provided with a magazine for the reception of a supply of feed and said magazine being open to the interior of the bag adjacent to the bag bottom so that the bottom of the bag is kept supplied with a predetermined amount of feed from the magazine.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents the feed bag in side elevation as in use, Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken in the plane of the line AA of Fig. 1, the supply of feed being shown removed, Fig. 3 is a vertical section taken in the planes of the line B-B of Fig. 2, showing the supply of feed, and Fig. 4 is a transverse vertical section through the bag.

The sides of the bag are denoted by 1 and the bag bottom by 2. The bag is preferably flared outwardly toward its top so as to give ample room for the magazine to be herein after described.

The bag is provided with the usual suspension rope or cord 3 for permitting the bag to be suspended in position to permit the animal to remove the feed from the bottom of the bag. A magazine is incorporated within the bag for keeping the bottom of the bag supplied with a predetermined amount of feed, which magazine is shown in the present instance as comprising two pockets 4 and 5 formed by stitching a strip of suitable material along the interior of the bag at its back, which pockets have open bottoms 6 and 7 adjacent to the bottom 2 of the bag and tops which may be opened and closed, in the present instance by button and button-hole connections 8 and 9.

In a bag constructed as herein described, the supply of feed may be placed within the magazine. The top of the magazine may then be closed. The open bottom of the magazine will permit a small amount of feed to be supplied on to the bottom of the bag, which supply will be automatically renewed as thefeed is consumed from the bottom of the bag by the animal. This arrangement permitsthe bag to be'sus ended in such a position that the mouth 0 the animal may at all times be in proximity to the bottom of the bag so that the entire amount of feed may be consumed and also revents wasting the feed by being thrown Irom the bag as the head of the animal is tossed. It is to be understood that this magazine may be comosed of one or more pockets as may be {)ound suitable for each particular style of l/Vhat I claim as my invention is:

A feed bag having sides and a bottom, and a strip of material secured within the bag at its-rear portion to form a pocket having an open top and an open bottom, and means for tightly securing the top of the strip to the rear portion of the sides of the bag for closing the top of said pocket.
