Be it known that we, JOHN L. AGNEW and CHARLES E. WRIqwls'r, of Negannee, in the county of Marquette, 1 and State of Michigan, h ave invented new anduseful Improvements on the Chilled Plates and Surfaces between'which Minerals are Crushed, Broken, or Ground; and Wedo' hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had Ito .the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in whichv l Figure 2 is a plan of the chilled' plates-used by the Blake crnsher, containing our improvements. l

reason for this is,that when the points, or ribs S S are Worn olf-on the working-face, it may then be reversed, bringing the nninjured face or side to the front, and thereby causing the chilled plates to last nearlyitwice as long. A
The action of crushing or grinding minerals tends to destroy the ribbed or uneven surface, by making it smooth, thereby impairin g the eiiiciency'of the machine.
