To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANK E. GOULTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Omaha, in the county of Douglas and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Garment-Supporters and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to garment supporting means and has for an object to provide a device adapted for association with the top band of trousers and the buttons thereon secured and to support an undergarment.

A further object of the invention is to provide an improved resilient member for engaging the button of a trouser band and provided with a hook disposed upon the inner surface of the band positioned to engage and support a tape or loop associated with an undergarment.

WVith these and other objects in view, the invention comprises certain other novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.

In the drawings :Figure 1 is a view in perspective of the garment fastener associated with garments shown in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is a view in side elevation of the garment supporter. Fig. 3 is a view in edge elevation of the improved fastener.

Like characters of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

The garment fastener forming the subjectmatter of this application is designed to engage a button secured upon the outer surface of the top band of trousers and employs for that purpose resilient spaced fingers 10 to engage a button when secured upon the outer surface of the band. The garment supporter is preferably formed of somewhat flattened resilient wire and the fingers 1O terminating in loops 11 positioned to constrict the interval and spaced apart as at 12 to permit the hook or bill 13 to be positioned between the side members.

The bill 13 is formed by drawing the side members approximately together, as at 14, and bending as at 15 so that the hook portion 13 returns to the side members and is disposed somewhat between the said members spaced as at 12 to prevent the withdrawing of any object as the tape shown in dotted lines at 16 without exerting force. The side members are bent as at 17 so that the spaced fingers 11 may occupy a position upon the exterior of the trousers band shown in dotted lines at 18 and engage the shank of a button secured upon the exterior of said band be tween the said fingers. It will be readily seen that provision is made for engaging the shank of a button secured to a trouser band and with a hook portion disposed to occupy a position upon the inner surface of the trouser band and with the hook disposed between the spaced side members to prevent the accidental displacement of the engaged portion of the garment therethrough.

What I claim is 1. A garment supporter, comprising a wire bent to provide spaced hooked ends with means at their extremities positioned to constrict the interval, and a bill bent backwardly and positioned between the spaced portions.

2. A garment supporter comprising a wire bent to provide spaced hooked ends with loops at their extremities positioned to constrict the interval, and a bill bent backwardly and positioned between the spaced portions.
