Be it known that I, Sieviin'r KvAM, a subject of the King of Norway, residing` at Minneapolis, in the county of Hennepin and State of Minnesota, have invented a certain new and useful Ilusliing-Glave, of which the following` is a specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a device in the nature of an attachment that may be applied to an ordinary glove for the purpose of adapting it for huskingl corn. f

More specifically, it is my object to provide a palm shield adjustable te 'lit hands of different sizes and a thumb shield containing a huskiiig hook and adjustable in diameter to ilit thumbs of dill'erent sizes and also adjustable tcward and from the palm shield so that the husking pegI carried by the thumb shield may be adjusted to stand in the effective position with relation to the users thumb.

A further object is to provide means for adjusting the angle of the h'usking peg so that the operator may place it at the angle desired for most ell'ective work.

My invention consists in the construction, arrangement and combination of the various parts the devicemwhereby theobjects contemplated are attained, as hereinafter more fullv set forth, pointed out iii my claims andu illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 shows a rear view of a glove h aving a huskiiig device embodying my iinprovement applied thereto. Fig. 2 shows a front view of the husking attachment disconnected from the glove. Fig. 3 shows an enlarged, detail, sectional view on the line 3%3 of Fig. 2, and lig. 4 shows an enlarged, transverse, sectional view through the thumb shield.

Referring to the accompanying drawings, I have used the reference numeral l() to indicate the glove. This glove is of the ordinary kind new in common use and forms no part of my present invention. i

The palm shield is preferably formed of a single piece of leather cf a size to encircle the wearers palm and is indicated by the numeral 11. It is provided with a thumb opening 12 and with a series of `protecting rivets 13 to preserve the leather from wear. At the back of the palm shield are two straps 14 and buckles 15 by which the palm may l l 1 l be adjusted to 'lit the wearers hand outside of a glove.

'lhe thumb shield comprises a body portion 16 made of a single piece of leather of a siZe to encircle the weai'ers thumb. Connected with the body portion is a semi-cylindrical metal plate 17 held to the leather by the rivets 18. Connected with one edge of the body portion 16 are two adjusting sti-aps 19, which are passed through loops 2O on the opposite edge and are then doubled back and passed through buckles 21 on the same edge to which the strapsare attached. In the metal plate 17, I have provided a slot 22 and a number of small openings 23.

The liuskiiig peg .is formed of a single piece of metal and has a base plate 24 with a pointed peg 25 projecting 'from it. ()ii one end of the base plate 24 is an extension 26 designed to enter any one of the openings 23 and a set screw 27 is passed through the plate 24 and through the slot 22 and into4 a nut 2S beneath the plate 17. By means of this arrangement, the angle of the adjusting peg may be shifted as desired and the adjusting peg may be moved bodily toward or from the palm shield.

In lpractical use, it has been 'found that a glove to cover the entire hand is very desirable as a protection to the user. It is objectionable to use a glove for liusking in which the fingers and palm are all covered with heavy leather reinforced with rivets for the reason that the linger portions are not Ilexible enough for ellicient use. The unprotected linger portions of the glove wear out on account of use and for this reason I provide the palm and thumb shields so arranged that they may be readily attached to or detaclied from a glove so that as soon as the finger portions of a glove are worn a new glove may be substituted.
