To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, J`. A. lM. COLLINS, ofthe eityof Keokuk, county of Lee, State of Iowa, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Blank-Bill Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full,l clear, and exact description thereof, reference being' had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of referenee marked thereon, in which- Figure l is a front view of my improved blank-bill holder; l,

Figure i.' is a side view ofthe same; and

Figure 3 is a top View of the same apparatus.

The object of this invention'is to form a holder for blank bills, and others blanks and papers for the use of business-men, as an improved article of manufacture, which will hold the papers in good shape, so as to be selflsupporting, and not Hap over and bend down, or acquire a serJ inconvenient to write on.

'Todo this, I make a holder, after the general plan of holders in use forsueh purposes, but with the peculiarities of structure and form as shown in the drawings, and set forth herein.

The holder is formed of sheet-metal, with side pieces of Wood, H H', or otherwise.

The dividing-parts B C D E F form pockets for holding blank bills, or papers of differentsizes, as required by business-men, one rising above another, to suit the different heights of the papers.

Gr forms a smaller pocket.

K is the back ofthe pockets, and

A is the back of the apparatus.

I shows, in dotted lines, the end of a bottom piece to rest the lower end ofthe papers on.

This fits between the side pieces H H', and can be held up at any height, to suit the range of papers, byV Y a screw in the sides H H', which .may be placed in any i' of aline of holes, I I".

Now, to form my improved article of manufacture, I bend the several divisions of the pockets K B G D E F G, as shown in fig. 3, to bow out, so that papers held therein' will staiid in the form of a 'section of part of a vertical cylinder, and thereby become self-supporting, and not flap over, bend down, or acquire a bad set of shape for wii'ting on and use by business-men.
