This invention relates more particularly to sectional or built-up trolley-wheels.

As shown in Figs. l and 3, the tread-ring C is provided et its inner. edge, on opposite sides of the pairs of lugs @,witli stops or shoulders c, which ibut against said lugs, thereby interlocking the tread-ring Wit'ntlie 'flnngelates A A and preventing circumferentia displacement ol' the ring with reference to the D is the hub of the wheel, preferably Drovided at its ends with outWa-i'dly-extenuing flanges rl and having a hollow central enlargement o, forming' in annular oil-chamber.
E is a. bushing fitted within the hub and adapted to turn on the usual axle, which is not shown in the drawings, The rings or inner portions bot' the spiders B surround the reduced end portions of the hub D and are permanently and rigidly s'ecured. thereto by existing collars or fillets F of any suitable inetnl around the end portions of the hub and. the rings of the spiders, as shown in Eig.- 2. By forming the webs or spiders B intcgrel with the side plates n A and connecting the spiders with tbc wheel-hub by the cost eolhirs all parts of the wheel are firmly united, as the natural shrinkage ol` the metal tends to draw the parts closely together. This construction avoids the use of screws, bolts, or. similar l'astcnings liable to h'ecoine loose und inuterialliY reduces .the cost` ol producing the wheel.
